Macrosoft’s Resources on Demand (RoD) Enables Utility Storm Centers to Track and Manage Crews During Large Scale Emergency Outages

Parsippany, NJ, — July 21, 2010 — Macrosoft has entered into an agreement with Westar Energy, the largest electric utility provider in Kansas, to deliver its emergency resource management tool, Resources on Demand (RoD). http://www.resources-ondemand.com/  RoD is a multi-user system that manages resource requests and allocations, tracks personnel movements, and supports lodging and logistics during restoration events.

“We are pleased to add Westar as our newest utility client,” said Jason Singer, Director of Macrosoft’s Utilities Practice.  “RoD will help Westar speed efficiencies during restoration, while creating a permanent record for post-event reporting and analysis.”

Intuitive and user-friendly, Macrosoft’s Resources on Demand provides storm center personnel with a tool to effectively organize crew & equipment allocations, monitor personnel availability, and improve the assignment process.  The system leverages historical data and reports to establish the best practices for use during future events.
